Graphics Onboarding
Motion Graphics Overview
1. Define Concept, Look & Feel
You will need to determine first and foremost:
What are the goals to use motion graphics in your channel
Which triggers you'd like to use
Which template class/type/example you'd like to implement for the triggers selected
How you'd like the templates to look and feel
2. Prepare Style Guides & Assets
Below is a set of assets we recommend sending over to ensure the highest quality possible on all of your motion graphics elements.
Please send any and all of the below to your account manager or to operations@frequency.com
Assets | Description | Specs |
---|---|---|
Style guide document | Style guides are a common practice for consistency of branding across products. If you do not have a style guide available, feel free to walk us through thematic elements of your branding and send examples. | Colors, guidelines, font, sizes, etc. |
Photoshop / Illustrator Master | A layered master image that represents an extremely high quality of your branding that can be used for creating animations. | .ai, .psd |
Logos | Any additional logos or versions of logos you would like featured in your graphics package. | JPG, PNG, GIF, SVG |
Backgrounds | Provide images that would serve well for your backgrounds. Keep in mind on what type of coverage this image would have (bottom third, half screen, corner, etc.) | JPG, PNG, GIF |
Screenshot of overlay mockup | This will present a basic idea of how you would like elements shown and moved around the screen. | JPG, PNG, GIF |
Videos of mockup / walkthrough | A video or animated mockup of how you would like graphics to move on screen, locations, and your ideal presentation. We can make it happen! | MP4, MOV, MKV |
3. Frequency Graphics Setup & Activation
Frequency will consolidate the requirements for concept, look & feel, style guides, and assets to set up the motion graphics compositions/overlays for the linear channel.

Triggers
Triggers represent automated events in the timeline of your program for when a motion graphic will appear. Each channel can be configured any or all of the supported triggers in the SCHEDULE tool's Graphics pane.
![]() |
Trigger | Definition | Duration |
---|---|---|
Program Start | This message is displayed several seconds into the start of a new program starting. This is a good space to promote upcoming events or specials, sponsors, or other important information. | 5-30 seconds |
Program End | Played shortly before the program finishes. This is a great place to put upcoming programming to keep users in their seats. | 5-30 seconds |
Ad Start | This trigger will appear before ad breaks, so it will likely be seen often. It is a good place to promote events or specials, as well as upcoming programming for the next few hours, populated by dynamic metadata. | 5-30 seconds |
Ad End | Played a few seconds into returning from an ad break. This placement is ideal for a "You're Watching" element, or otherwise promoting something about your channel. | 5-30 seconds |

Custom Fields
Custom fields can be implemented in Overlays where a Studio user can make changes on-the-fly via the GRAPHICS tool. This is useful for text fields or image artwork that would change in text value over time. Setting up these fields would allow immediately changes without reconfiguration of an Overlay.
