Content Delivery Guidelines

This page outlines the guidelines and requirements for effectively ingesting your assets into Frequency Studio. To ensure successful onboarding of your content, please adhere to the information and specifications in the following areas:

Video Specifications - Ensure that source video specifications meet the minimum requirements for Frequency's platform. This is crucial for proper indexing and distribution.
Content Delivery - Ingesting content into Frequency's platform using the supported methods for delivering video and related metadata

Video Specifications

To prepare video to be compatible with Frequency's platform, the following video specifications must be followed. The specifications allows for video quality consistency, video technical metadata, and ultimately impacts video's ability for distribution.

Video Aspect Ratio	Preferred: 16:9
Key Frame Interval	≤ 8 seconds
Audio Codec	AAC, AC3 - 16-bit 44.1 Khz / 48 Khz
Audio Bitrate	≥ 128 Kbps
Audio Channels	Preferred: 2.0 Stereo
Thumbnail	File extensions: png, jpg Minimum resolution: 1280x720, 72dpi
Closed Captions	Sidecar: srt, scc, vtt, stl, smi, ttml Embedded in stream/track #0: CEA-608/708

Required Video Metadata

Item	Specifications
Title	Maximum: 255 characters
Description	Preferred: 110 characters for some distributors Maximum: 16,777,215 (2²⁴ - 1) characters
Genre	Must map category to values found in Genres and Subgenres or the video will be rejected Talk to your account manager if additional genres are required

Optional Video Metadata

There is a host of optional metadata that can supplement your content. Additional metadata is used to expand the possibility of distributor product implementations. You can find details in our Metadata Specifications.

Content Delivery

Frequency accepts assets from various sources including MRSS, S3, Dropbox, and manual uploads. The preferred method is delivering content through MRSS feeds. Visit the respective pages for integration details.
